The Tubbataha Scuba Dive season is upon us!

sakuraStarting the middle of March sees the start of the Tubbataha scuba dive season, where scuba divers from all over the world get to see both the beauty of Palawan but also the amazing Tubbataha reef located approximately 90 miles from Puerto Princesa which is regarded by many as one of the natural wonders of the world.

All trips are live aboard meaning that the boat is not only where you dive from but also where you sleep and eat. We work with all the operators of which there are 9 and there are a total of 11 boats which will set sail for approximately 14 weeks from Mid March to End of June. Prices range from $1200 to almost $4,000 so you can imagine there is a lot to choose from with regard to your comfort and requirements. Trips range from 4 to 8 days.

Also you need to read the small print when booking the dive as many of the operator’s will forfeit the entire cost of the trip IF for some reason the trip is cancelled such as due to bad weather. So it makes sense to check with your holiday insurer if they would reimburse you should this happen. Putting this to one side Tubbataha offers world class diving in a stunning location with visibility often in excess of 40 meters! Currently the boat operators are telling me that they are already more than 60% of capacity so it makes sense to book now through Aquaholics.

Many people prior or after the trip to Tubbataha visit the picturesque town of El Nido to avail the stunning limestone formations; however why not visit the even prettier town of Port Barton situated half way between Puerto Princes and El Nido. As one recent diver said to me, the difference between El Nido and Port Barton is that in El Nido he felt like he was a tourist and Port Barton he felt like he was more of a visitor. Aquaholics also have a shop there right in the middle of the beach where you can continue your dive explorations including visiting two ship wrecks.

Please visit the Aquaholics Tubbataha web page and complete the details in order that we may select the best trip and operator for you. Happy diving! Martyn
